OBITUARY
Richard Eugene Coleman, son of the late Hiram Alphonso Coleman and Mattie Lee (Murray) Coleman, was born on March 15, 1943, in Mount Holly, NJ. He was the only child of this union.
Richard was educated in the Westampton Township Public School System and attended Rancocas Valley Regional High School, where he was affectionately known as “Worm”. During his high school years, he met Christine E. Demby. On October 8, 1966, Richard married Christine of Mount Holly, NJ, and from this union were two children, Richard and Richelle. Richard’s oldest daughter, Valerie, is from a previous relationship.
Richard was a hardworking family man. He started off picking blueberries in the Hammonton Township area in his younger years. Those close to the Murray family know all about these stories, in addition to his legacy connected with our family history of “Timbuctoo”. Richard took every opportunity to remind his children of his blueberry picking days. He wanted his children to know how many buckets he picked, how much money he made, and how they didn’t know how good they had it. He began his career working in the construction industry before becoming a forklift driver at Atlantic Cresote Company, where he worked his way up to become a company driver. Later, Richard ventured out to become a long-distance Owner-Operator Truck Driver. He worked for a variety of other trucking companies, such as National Freight International and RHP Container. Richard traveled the East Coast from Maine to Florida, as well as, the states of Texas, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Iowa in his 18-wheeler. He also worked at Griffin Pipe in Florence, NJ in the 80s. Richard retired at the young age of 60.
His favorite past time was watching John Wayne westerns, wrestling and football. He was even an RV Patriots football coach and a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan. His children will remember him most for the family time he spent with them playing board games like Monopoly, Trouble, Life, Connect Four and Sorry, as well as, 500 Rummy and Uno. Richard also enjoyed motorcycles and boating. Most of all, he loved fishing trips with his buddies on the Delaware Bay, Tuckerton, NJ; Barnegat, NJ; Hyannis, MA; and Deal Island, MD. He would spend days and hours getting his fishing poles ready, which his wife could not wait to get him out of the house. Richard would also share the fish he caught with family and friends. His favorite food was chicken and fried fish, which was the main entrée at the Coleman Labor Day Barbeques.
Richard accepted Jesus Christ as His lord and savior in 2008. Since 2012, he was a faithful member of Faith Deliverance Worship Center in Burlington, NJ, where he was also baptized in 2013. Richard will truly be missed, since he was a unique person, who touched so many lives. Richard was called home to be with His Lord on January 5, 2018. His life memories will live on with each and every one of us.
He leaves to mourn his devoted wife of 51 years Christine Coleman of Mount Holly, NJ; his 3 children, Valerie Ray (Terrance) of Willingboro, NJ; Richard A. Coleman (Rose) of Dover, DE; and Richelle A. Coleman of Lumberton, NJ. He had 6 grandchildren, Shaukia, Douglas, Tiana, Raynna, Mya and Kyah; and 5 great grandchildren, Alex, Nakiya, Dominic, Ahonesty and Josslyn. Also left to mourn is 1 sister-in-law, Beverly Minney; 1 goddaughter, Keira Johnson; his 2 loving Aunts, Elizabeth Crawley and Rose Ball, as well as, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Thomas Wellmon of Jacobstown, N.J. passed on January 17th, 2018 at the Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice in Mt. Holly. He was 86.
Thomas Wellmon, son of the late Lela and Cornelious Wellmon retired after 37 years and two different career fields with the federal government. He served as a primary crewmember and staff officer in the United States Air Force from September 1954 until November 1974. In this capacity, he served as the duty officer and chief computer planning for the 21st Air Force. After completing his military career he served as the prime diplomatic clearance officer for the Air Mobility command. He achieved the rank of Lt. Colonel when he retired from military service in 1974.
Thomas was educated in the Lincoln Academy school system and graduated from Howard University in Washington D.C., where he earned a bachelor’s degree in geology. He participated in ROTC at Howard and received a commission as an Air Force second lieutenant, upon graduating in 1954. Further academic achievement includes graduate studies at Rider University in New Jersey.
He was a faithful congregant of Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton Jersey and was recognized as a Diamond Jubilee member in 2006.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Alice; daughter, Cynthia; and grandson, Christopher. He is also survived by a host of well-loved relatives and friends.
He maintained an unwavering commitment to God, family, and country throughout his lifetime. We’ll miss him…until we meet again.

OBITUARY
Perfect Oliver Sr. of Pemberton, NJ passed away on February 2, 2018 at 5:15 pm just shy of his 88th birthday to be with his wife while she watched the Eagles win the Superbowl from above. He passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden with family at his side. Perfect was born to Leo Oliver and Melinda Bean on February 18, 1930 in Kerville, Tx. At the age of 14, he joined the United States Army, where he served for nearly 30 years before retiring at the rank of CW3. Despite his faithful service to his country, Perfect was humble and sought no special treatment or recognition for his sacrifice. That said, you wouldn’t find him out in public without his cap, detailing his service in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
Following his departure from the military, Perfect did anything but live the “retired” life. He went on to raise a family with his beloved wife Corene (Jackson). Perfect lived the American dream, owning his own diner and trucking company.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Corene and twin daughters, Gwendolyn and Jacquelyn, son, Calvin Eddenfield (Evelyn), Gayle Strong and William Strong. He is survived by sons, Perfect Oliver Jr. (Amira) and Vincent Oliver (Marla) and sister Centranella Morel. He will also be loved and missed by several grandchildren and great grandchildren, daughter-in law, Karola Partee and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10th 11AM at the Restoration Station, 4313 US Rt. 130, Edgewater Park, NJ. Family and Friends may view from 10AM until time of service. Interment: Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington, NJ

Harold VanDunk age 71, son of the late Norman and Daisy VanDunk departed this life on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills, NJ. He was born on August 19, 1946 in Suffern, NY.
Harold was baptized at an early age at Good Shepherd Church in Ringwood, NJ. He attended Sunday School along with his sisters and brothers.
Harold attended West Milford Township Schools in Ringwood, NJ. He graduated and then went on to attend Lakeland Regional High School.
Harold’s Work experience covered many jobs. He was employed with the State Of New Jersey for many years as a laborer. He retired in 2000 from The Westampton Township Public Works.
Harold was part of the Ramapough Munsee Lenape Nation Delaware Turle Clan, Harold participated in the ceremony Blessing the land where houses were being built on sacred native land in Upper Ringwood, NJ
Harold was predeceased by his one brother, Norman VanDunk Jr. and one sister, Carolyn VanDunk. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Frances VanDunk, five sons, Leroy (Gale), Harold, William Jen), Robert (Bruneida) and Thomas. Two daughters, Dawn Marie (Danny) and Patricia. Harold also leaves to cherish, 33 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, two bothers, William and Carl, Two sister, Peggy Degroat and Patricia Franz, brothers-in law, sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Carl Butler, loving husband and father, was born on January 14, 1942 to the late Calopie Niblack Butler and Wayman Butler in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, along with his twin sister, Carol. Carl attended the Philadelphia school system where he graduated from Bok High School. Carl was called home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2018 with his devoted wife by his side.
After graduating high school, Carl had several jobs in Philadelphia. Later he moved to Burlington, NJ where he was employed by Griffin Pipe Product of Florence, NJ for 26 years until he retired. On July 8, 2000, he married the love of his life, Gloria McCurry. To this union, no children were born, but God blessed them to raise a very special nephew, Justin White.
Carl became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Burlington, NJ where he was baptized by the Late, Rev. Richard Jones. Carl was a member of the TBC Male Chorus, which he loved very much. He served as their Sargent of Arms.
Carl leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and dedicated wife, Gloria; one daughter, Maray V. Butler Bolds (Roland); his son, Steven Butler (Martishia); his twin sister, Carol Hawkins; a special nephew, Justin White, one dear cousin, Ruth Niblack; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his oldest son, Carl Butler Jr. and brothers, Wayman Jr. and Earnet. The Lords will has been done.

OBITUARY
The earthly life of Arlene M. (Betts) Kregg began on April 29, 1932 in Larchmont, New York to Nevins O. Betts and Miriam Dickson and was called home on February 24, 2018.
Arlene moved to the Bucks County area in 1940 and married Jesse C. Austin in 1946. From that union they had eight children: Carolyn, Annette (Byron), Theodore (Carol), Jo Ann, Steven (Pat), Arthur (Adrienne), Elizabeth, and Mark (Alecia).
On May 29, 1997 she married Clarence R. Kregg, Sr. and moved to Willingboro, NJ. She remained in her home in wedded bliss until the Lord chose to call her home. Arlene and Clarence shared many years together and gracefully blended their families into one. Ricky and Patrick Kregg were regarded as her children from that point on. Their pet dog, Diamond, was a staple in their household for many years. Anyone who spent just a moderate amount of time in their home will have heard, at least once, Arlene sing out that classic ring-tone of life… “C-L-A-R-E-N-C-E!!!”
Arlene surrendered her heart to Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Willingboro, New Jersey. She regularly attended Sunday School and was active in the Ladies Prison Ministry.
She worked in different jobs and settings but spent most of her working career at Delaware Valley Hospital (Aria Bucks) retiring in 1997 after almost 20 years of service. She was an avid bowler and bowled with the same league for 40 years and served at least one term as President of the League. For a short time, she bowled in three leagues at once. She loved games and her competitive nature could be seen in how she played pinochle, bid-whist, Monopoly (long ago), Scrabble, and any other game she could lure you into. She also loved flowers and traveling; she undoubted placed her feet in almost every state of the Union and had her passport stamped for a host of places outside of the United States.
In addition to her husband and children, Arlene is survived by her sister Shawneequa Flippin of VA, 21 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren. She was loved and leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father (Theodore and Miriam Jackson), her first husband, Jesse C. Austin, and her sister Mary Lee Davis as well as beloved grandson, Nathan Hannon.
Arlene was a simple, determined, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She accepted and embodied the role of matriarch of the family and she did it well. Arlene will be missed. But it is comforting to know she is now resting in the arms or her Lord.

Evelyn Jones White was called home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2018.
“JJ” as she was affectionately called by her husband Claude F. White Sr. was born March 14, 1938 in New Kent County Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Byrd Jones and Marie A. Jones. JJ was baptized at an early age at New Elam Baptist Church in New Kent, Virginia. After traveling extensively with her husband she settled in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. There she joined Tabernacle Baptist Church, Burlington, New Jersey where she has been a member for 33 years.
JJ was raised in New Kent, County, Virginia where she attended and graduated from George Watkins High School, New Kent County Virginia. She later graduated from Virginia Union University, Richmond Virginia.
Evelyn and Claude F. White met at Rockeywall/Deephaven Camps, Ashland, New Hampshire in 1958. They were married July 29, 1961 they enjoyed 56 years in a loving relationship. From this beautiful union they were blessed with two sons, Claude F. White Jr. and Gary P. White.
Evelyn was an educator throughout her entire life. She taught in the public school systems of Hanover County Virginia, East St. Louis, Illinois, McGuire AFB, New Jersey and Hamilton Township New Jersey schools. She received her master’s degree and became a guidance counselor, later she became the head of the guidance department. For more than 30 years she molded the minds of hundreds of students along the way. Evelyn completed her formal educational career as Vice Principal at Nottingham High School, Mercer County New Jersey retiring in 1997 and even after retirement continued to shape and educate the minds of young people.
Evelyn was an active and faithful life member of Zeta Delta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority of Moorestown, New Jersey.
Evelyn “JJ” is survived by her wonderful, caring and loving husband Claude F. White Sr., two sons; Claude F. White Jr. and Gary P. White, her brother; Ryland O Jones of Washington DC; her sister-in-law; Gertha D. Jones, daughter in law; Robin L. White; five grandchildren; Tia C. White, Florian E. White, Annalena White, Josephine White and Ian H. White and a host of relatives and friends. She fought a good fight, she finished the course, she kept the faith!

George Thomas Ridley Jr. was born on July 5, 1939 in Norfolk, VA to George T. Ridley Sr. and Virginia Booth. George received his education in the Norfolk Public School System and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk. Immediately upon graduation, George enlisted in the United States Army where he spent 32 years before retiring. George was a decorated Army veteran who served in the Vietnam and Korean Wars. George was the recipient of a Silver Star, Bronze Star and a Purple Heart just to name a few of his many accomplishments.
George was an extraordinary man. He enjoyed people and loved to share his many words of wisdom to all he encountered. Growing up with five sisters, George was an exceptional cook and could make a mean pot of lima beans. He had so many different talents and skills…. from building things, repairing cars, plumbing, sewing, dancing and hitting the casino whenever he got the chance. But his favorite pastime was watching the Philadelphia Eagles. Most recently George was installed as Commander of VFW Post 4914 on May 28, 2018. He was a proud veteran and Post 4914 was his joy.
Family meant the world to George and he loved them so much. His marriage to Gilda a year ago had planted a permanent smile on his face.
George was predeceased by his first wife Janice Ridley and daughter Delphine Ridley. Those left to continue his legacy are his wife Gilda Peace Ridley, his sons; George Jr. (Cornelia), Dennis (Kim), Kenneth Ridley. Step-children; Tyesha and Chauncey Peace. Grandchildren: Jasen, Chloe, Jillienne, Jian, Noah, Jamar (LeNora) Ridley and Anthony Rodriguez. Great Grandchildren: Jasiah and Isaiah Ridley. Sisters: Dee White and Mary Lee Wilson of VA, Pearline (Donald) Scott and Virginia Stith of MD, Barbara A. (George) Green of Chicago. Special Niece and Nephew: Charles and Margie Ridley. Charles Worthy Jr. was born on January 6, 1920, to Charles and Nancy Worthy, Sr. in Halselville, South Carolina. He passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on July 10, 2018.
During his youth, he resided in Leeds, South Carolina, where he accepted accepted Christ as his savior at Red Hill Baptist Church. As a young adult he relocated to Baltimore, MD. Shortly after, he moved to Elizabeth, NJ, where he made his home.
Charles and Lois Hayes were united in marriage on June 6, 1970 in Roselle, NJ and were married for 48 years. The couple were long time members of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Roselle, NJ until they relocated to South Jersey in 2005, where they eventually became members of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Burlington, NJ.
Charles was affectionately known as “Daddy,” “Dad,” “Pop,” and “Pop-Pop.” He always shared tales of his adventures. He was an avid fisherman who often caught a variety of fish that he would deliver to family and friends for their cooking pleasure. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening, cooking and baking. Charles was a mechanic and a truck driver by trade. Early in his career he worked at the Singer Corporation. Then for many years he went on to work for Elizabeth Motors, finally retiring as a truck driver from Liquid Carbonic Corporation. Throughout his life, he always lent a helping hand to family, friends, and anyone who was in need of assistance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nancy Worthy, and siblings Roosevelt, Willie, Mabel, John, Bertha, Marion and Beatrice.
He is survived by his wife Lois Worthy and brothers Girza Worthy and Willie Wright. He has seven children: Jean Coleman (Henry), Charles Worthy III, Sheila McNeil (Nelson), Richard Jacobs Jr., Sharon King (John), Cynthia Taylor and Sandra Largin; 14 grandchildren: Garry Edwards, Tawana Coleman, Charles Worthy IV (Talieka), Michael Bulle, Nicole Jacobs, April Blevins (Michael), Jamar Largin, Tyelisa Young (Spencer), Robert Taylor Jr. (Paige), Richard Jacobs, Symone Dixon, Natashia Dixon, Chelsea Jacobs and Vincent Jacobs; 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Charles touched many lives in a loving and positive way. His big heart and open arms will be greatly missed!

OBITUARY
Edward S. Hutton, Jr. was born October 11, 1930, to the late Edward S. Hutton, Sr. and Mary Todd. He made his transition to GOD on November 29, 2018. He was the second oldest of four siblings. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mervin Todd Hutton and Eileen Hutton and survived by one brother William C. Hutton, Sr. Edward was preceded in death by his loving, beautiful wife; Catherine on July 28, 2018.
Edward married Dorothy Johnson and from this union there were five children: Sharon, Tina, Edward III, Mimi, and Eric.
Lieutenant Hutton, known affectionately as “Mimi” in the community, attended and graduated from Burlington Senior High School in 1949. He was a pillar in the community and was well loved and respected by all who came in contact with him. Edward accepted Christ and was baptized earlier in his life. He also attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. He enlisted in the U. S. Army National Guard and the Army Reserve for 8 years. He joined the Burlington City Police Department where he served for 27 years and retired as a Police Lieutenant. He also graduated from the FBI Academy, was a member of American Legion Post 336/Slade Valentine, and Fraternal Order Police Lodge #2. Edward was owner of Hutton Moving and Hauling for 48 years. He was the recipient of the Burlington City Brotherhood Award for outstanding community service, role model and mentorship. Having boxed in Germany during the war, he was an avid boxer and later operated the Burlington City’s Police Athletic League and trained and mentored many young boxers in the city.
Edward joined Evergreen Baptist Church more than 25 years ago where he was ordained as a Deacon. He and his wife worked diligently in the church in the capacity of chairperson for Annual Bring a Friend Sunday for many years until their illnesses prevented them. Deacon Hutton also served as Sheepfold leader and Head of Security. No matter what the task, he would accomplish it and embrace it with the personality of Christ and that warm infectious smile.
Deacon Edward Severns Hutton Jr. leaves to cherish fond memories of his life; brother: William C. Hutton Sr., aunt; Naomi Fox, children: Sharon Jones, Tina M. Harrison, (Cornelius), Edward S. Hutton, III, Mimi Hutton-Marshall (Jon), Eric Hutton and Gene Adams.(Sandra) He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren whom he dearly loved: James (Brian) Gillette, Mia Canady (Fred), Cedric Jones (Najah), Felicia Hutton, Shandryn “Missy” Nelson (Will), George E. Holland Jr., Edward S. Hutton IV, (Tyesha), Christina Holland, Christian A. Holland Sr. (Alisa), Simone Riles, Carlais Pyles, LaToya Wilson, Aubre Adams, Karlyn Adams-Wiggins (Lawrence), and Regina Adams, twenty-four great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren, godson, William C. Hutton, Jr., goddaughter, Lisa Rowson, adopted daughters, Joyce Patrice Clark, Floree Epps, and Jacqualyn L. Clark (deceased) devoted friends, Carmen Stevens, Miles Marks, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention, as well as his Evergreen family. He had two special lifelong friends for over 60 years, Joseph “Champ” Branham and Junius “Rock” Rochester.
Edward Severns Hutton Jr.; always praising GOD and telling others of the good news of Jesus Christ will be remembered for the love he had for Christ, the passion for his entire family, church and friends, his true integrity, his genuine smile and the expectation he had for his circle to take on the personality of Christ and receive salvation. OBITUARY
Jeffrey Edward Ramsey, son of the late Robert and Mildred Ford Ramsey, was born on May 6, 1944 in Providence, R.I. He departed this life on Monday September 2, 2019 after a brief illness.
Jeffrey attended public school in Providence, RI and graduated from Hope High School. After graduating from high school, Jeffrey attended Morgan State College, Baltimore, MD and graduated with a B.S. degree in Political Science. He then went on to attend Georgetown University Law Center and earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.
Jeffrey began his employment career as a law clerk with the Gillette Company in Boston, MA. He later moved to New Jersey where he worked as a Contract Administrator for RCA, GE, and Martin Marietta in the Communications Systems Group, with NASA and with the European Space Agency. After leaving the corporate world, Jeffrey was employed by W. R. Woody Funeral Home of Burlington, NJ. Shortly thereafter, he went to work for the State of New Jersey - State Parole Board, first as a Hearing Officer in the Appeals and Legal Unit and then as a member of the State Parole Board. While working in at the Parole Board, Jeffrey instituted a book club for young men on parole in Camden and in Newark, NJ. Jeffrey retired in 2016.
Jeffrey’s political career in Burlington County, New Jersey began in 1993 when he was elected to Willingboro Township Council. He served on Township Council for fifteen years, serving asDeputy Mayor in 1995,1999, and 2004 and as Mayor in 1996, 2000, 2006, and 2007. He also served as Democratic State Committeeman and served on the Burlington County Democratic Committee. Previous to serving on Willingboro Township Council, Jeffrey was a Commissioner with the Willingboro Municipal Utilities Authority from 1985 to 1996 and was on the Willingboro Township Zoning Board from,1985 to 1988. He was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1984.
In July of 1980, Jeffrey married the love of his life, Carol Ann Hutton. This union was blessed with three children: Veroniqa Corethia (deceased), Brittani Faythe, and Justin Edward. Jeffrey was a loving father who stressed devotion to God, the value of hard work, service to others, and to the community at large. He believed that it was our duty to encourage and inspire others to greatness just as he had been encouraged. He mentored many individuals both young and old, and for this he will be remembered.
After attending Tabernacle Baptist Church for many years, Jeffrey joined in February of 2018 with his wife, Carol. He often told people that he would not join the church until his wife joined with him. Together they completed the New Members Class, were baptized and enjoyed attending church regularly. Jeffrey particularly found fulfillment attending the Men’s Fellowship Bible Study Class on Saturday mornings. The discourse of theological principles peaked his desire to study God’s word on a deeper level. It was the catalyst for inspiring him to have a closer relationship with God. Minutes before he closed his eyes for the last time, he could be heard praying softly.
Before joining Tabernacle Baptist Church, Jeffrey was a long-time member of Bethlehem A.M.E. Church, Burlington, NJ where he served on the Usher Board and the Steward Board.
Jeffrey leaves to mourn his loss, his wife of 39 years, Carol; his children, Brittani Faythe and Justin Edward; a special cousin, Lois Hackett; and numerous relatives and friends who will miss his wisdom and candor. Jeffrey is also survived by his grandbuddy, Roman, Brittani’s Yorkshire Terrier, who he loved dearly.

OBITUARY
Rubie Mae Gregory of Pemberton, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was 87 years old.
Rubie was the beloved daughter of the late Curtis and Mary Francis Johnson.
Rubie was born in Grayridge, Missouri. In 1949, she graduated from high school in Cairo, Illinois. She married James E. Gregory in 1952 and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University in 1953. Being married to a military man afforded her the opportunity to travel and live in Europe and various states. She became a permanent resident of Pemberton Township in 1968. She went on to enjoy a lengthy career as an elementary school teacher in the North Hanover School District. In 1987, Rubie was cited for teaching excellence many times, including being selected as one of three state finalists for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching. This award is the highest recognition that a mathematics or science teacher may achieve in the United States. After retiring, Rubie seized the opportunity to enhance her love of worldwide travel by working full time as a travel agent at Vantage Travel in Cookstown, New Jersey. As part of her travels, Rubie visited a variety of destinations including Russia, China, Israel, England, a host of Caribbean Islands, Bermuda, and Hawaii, just to name a few. She also wrote a weekly travel column in the local newspaper detailing her many travel experiences.
Rubie was a devoted member of Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Lumberton, New Jersey, where she taught Sunday School. She also volunteered as a mathematics teacher in the Lighthouse Christian School.
She is survived by her children: Glenn, Curtis, James, Jr. (Evelyn) and Stan (Nicole); Angela Davis Kellman, her niece, whom she loved as a daughter; six grandchildren, Amber, Diana, Derrick, Sean, Alyssa, James III; and, one grandchild, Iris. She is also survived her siblings: William Johnson (Alberta), Lloyd Johnson (Maxine), Beatrice Thomas, Leon Johnson, Barbara Baxter (Alvin), Alan Johnson, Yolonda Simon, Mancedon (Connie), and a host of relatives nationwide. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Floyd, Thurman and Larry Johnson.
Friends and relatives are invited to the viewing from 9 to 11 a.m., Monday, November 18, 2019, at Saint Mark Baptist Church, 545 Lakehurst Road, Browns Mills, New Jersey, 08015, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, 1300 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, New Jersey, 08077.

Joe Louis Foreman
Joe Louis Foreman, 81, passed peacefully in his sleep the morning of Tuesday February 25, 2020 after a long battle with prostate cancer and kidney failure. He was born on July 15, 1938 in Sinnickson, VA in Accomack County to William Foreman and Rosa Foreman (Clarke). He graduated from Pemberton High School, class of ’56 and studied Liberal Arts at Burlington County College, class of ’78. Joe was an Army Veteran serving 3.5 years Active Duty and an additional overseas service for 3 years in France working in Human Resources. Known to most fondly as “Uncle Joe”, he was a staple in the community of Browns Mills as the neighborhood mailman. He retired from the US Postal Service of Browns Mills in 1992 but went back a fews years later as a part time employee until 2008.
Uncle Joe was a lifelong member of Friendship AME church where he served as a Steward, 2nd Treasurer, member of the Finance Committee, and as President of Choirs. For Joe, Friendship AME was more than just a place of worship. Friendship AME church was his family, his community, his purpose, and his home. Through this community he was able to fulfill his calling to be of service to others.
Socially Joe Foreman was the definition of a go getter. He spent many years as a member of the Pemberton Township Senior Center where he would go have breakfast or lunch and just hang out with friends. He joined them for a countless number of bus trips, cruises, casino trips, theatre shows, and restaurants to name a few.
Joe Foreman was 1 of 10 children. He was preceded to Heaven by his parents along with his 9 siblings Minnie Foreman, Theodore Foreman, Harold Foreman, Allie Foreman, Sam Foreman, Cornelius Foreman, Richard Anderson, Manuel Pina, and Raymond Pina. Although Joe was never married and had no children, he helped raise so many of his siblings’ children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He leaves behind to remember him lovingly a host of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation of nieces and nephews: Carole Dudley, Curtis Dudley, Kijana Fairell, Darlene Foreman, Vernada Joy Graham, Milton Maxwell Nelson III, Anthony Pina, Darrel Watson, Eli Watson, Lathonia Taylor, Lilly Rose Foreman-Stevens, Peggy Maxwell, Willie Foreman, Allie Foreman Jr, Virginia Jennings, lifelong best friend John Holly, and so many others.
Memorial Services will be held at Friendship AME Church at 711 Lakehurst Rd Browns Mills, NJ 08015 on , presided by Pastor Samuel Hayes. Burial ceremony will be held at Oddfellows Cemetery 217 Odd Fellows Rd, Pemberton, NJ 08068.
Gerson Alfonso Raines Sr.
Gerson Alfonso Raines Sr. age 83 of Mt. Holly, NJ. passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020. He was born on August 8, 1937 to Rudolph Raigns and Gattie Smith in Halifax County, North Carolina. He was preceeded in death by three siblings: Rudolph Raigns, Jr., Spencer Raigns and Mertie Raigns.
Gerson was educated in the Halifax school system. Upon graduation from high school, Gerson joined the United States Armed Service, He was the recipient of a multitude of awards to include the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Medal with 4 Bronzed Service Stars and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He had 2 tours in Vietnam and retired from Fort Gordon, Ga, after over 21 years of service.
After retirement from the army, Gerson became employed by the US Postal Service for 20 years. In addition, he drove an eighteen-wheeler tractor trailer until he was ready to really retire.
Gerson leaves to cherish his memory six children: Rubbin (Debbie), Gerson, Jr. (Nanette), Kenneth, Gerald (Cynthia), Kiven and Sadia; twelve grandchildren: Summer (Daniel), Cassandra (David), Kyle, Gerson III, Joshua, Kirsten, Bria, Kendall, Britanee’, Gerald Jr., Hannah and Seth and four siblings: Dorothy Draughn, Shirley Sledge, Susie Dawson and Clinton Raigns.
